Que bien que manejas el español, así te puedo explicar sobre la Image:Edificio_San_Ignacio-Grafica.JPG, esa imagen la tome de un libro de la Universidad de Antioquia, le tome una foto con mi cámara, la grafica fue realizada en 1926 pero desconozco el autor. Elimina la imagen que cuando tenga tiempo volveré a la biblioteca busco el libro, observo bien los datos y vuelvo a subir la imagen con toda la información en orden. Por favor pone toda la informacion en las paginas de descripcion y remove las plantilla de borrar. Pero, tene en cuenta que ser el dueno de una foto no es lo mismo que ser el autor de una foto. Ale, I am the painter representative and he is my husband; also, I took the photo. What else do you need, a notary document? could load up the image again but smaller this time, and perphaps a photo from the chardonay San Cristobal de la Habana wine label where it everybody can see it...is that right for you? Copyright violations

Hi, I'm the rebel uploader and I've got a question. I upload images, that I've got from www.wowwiki.com, which is another wiki, right? And pictures at there pages are pictures, that Blizzard released. Where shall I take a permission? Do I have to write to Blizzard company and ask them, if I can use their picures on wikipedia or what? -- Kainwhisper P.S. Sorry for my english, it's my second language and I'm not good in writting.

Well, for me the wowwiki license statement on their mainpage is quite doubtful, but you are right, that they say that all content is licensed under {{GFDL}}. However, for instance the Image:Cenarius color.jpg says, that "all rights are reserved" which is not compatible with Commons. I will confern with the other admins on that. Re:Pokemon Sign and One Piece Pencilboard

Hi, how are ya? I don't understand your point. I mean, in the pencilboard pic the outside parts aren't that visible, so I might understand why you think it is a copyright violation, but the pokemon sign I really don't get it. It's not only the pokémon sign, it has the surroundings and all of that, like many pictures of copyrighted things are taken and uploaded with no problem...either way, the pokémon logo would be a trademark, and much like the billions of trademark logos that were uploaded (such as the microsoft logo), there is no reason to delete the picture. The main object of you image is the Pokemon logo. It is not showing a Pokemon store as a whole, which is allowed. The aim of this image is to bypass the copyright restrictions of Pokemon logo, which is not allowed. --ALE! ¿…? 14:21, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Tags of copyright

Hi there, Ale. I was reading again the request for deletion of the coat of arms of Israel, estated by some as copyrighted due to its internal laws (in the case, the State Copyright). However, seeing that Israel, as well as a lot of countries, is a member of the World Intelectual Property Organization, should not be considered that its national symbols are automatically in public domain? According to the license, the previous version was valid, although the source says it is not [1]. This version from flickr you have tagged is not valid (c). Alexz Johnson / Instant Star Photos

I do have the original correspondence with Epitome Pictures, and have drafted a detailed message to them as a follow-up, with the licencing information and the specific locations of the files that have been uploaded, so that they can give their permission with respect to the specific files, in addition to the general permission they have given so far.

I have one more file to upload before doing this. That is a TIF file which is currently close to 50 MB. I have to get this converted to a JPG which will take less space. Once I have converted and uploaded the file, I will then have the coordinates for each picture in the set. Epitome Pictures can then give all the specific approvals.

I will need a few days to sort all this out. The process should be complete by the middle of next week.

There is no need for speedy deletion if one already has the permissions, as is the case here.

¿Plagio en Commons?

Hola Ale!: Acabo de ver un gráfico que realicé en 2006, y que fue modificado poco después, borrando mi nombre como autor. La modificación es aceptable, pero del modo que ha sido realizada viola el GFDL ("Modifications"):

• Usar un título distinto
• Mantener el nombre de los autores principales

Creo que esto habría que denunciarlo como plagio, ¿no?

Modificaiones estan permitidas pero hay nombrar todos (!) los autores anteriores.

Simplemente agrega los nom bres que faltan.

Cambiar el nombre es ok.

Hola Ale! Yo no puedo agregar "mi" nombre en un dibujo que dice que no es mío, porque a su vez podría ser acusado de plagio. Debe ser la misma persona que subió la imagen, atribuyéndose la obra exclusivamente. Lo que voy a hacer es dejar una nota al supuesto autor para que corrija. but a lot of people put "own work" on the description page when it was actually taken by someone else. A good indication for this is usually a link to some internet page. Like in you case.

I see you have replaced the {{crop}} on Image:LeasideMillwoodBridge.jpg. Can you still see the lower caption on this image when viewed at full resolution? Other sizes of image spend a variable time in a cache. If it is the dark top edge that prompts you to label, then I would like some clarification on how much these old images should be cropped. well it seems to me that this photo is in fact a border case. But it looks like that the top, left and right borders show something like a dark frame. Or is this only due to problems in the scanning process or the age of the photo. --ALE! ¿…? 15:55, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

There is a dark edge at places around the image, which is probably due to the age of the print. Are you scanning these images? The right certainly does not have a black border - look outside the telegraph pole. I am happy to crop further, but the risk is of losing data. Using lossless cropping with Jpegcrop, the bottom and right edges can be reduced in pixel-width steps, but the top and left are larger steps (I must look into Jpegtrans). Hola ALE! Te escribe el usuario Kanon6917, a se bloqueo por 3 meses por supuestamente resubir una y otra vez imágenes no libres. Hace unas semanas Dodo me advirtió que especificara las licencias de ciertas imgs, cosa que hice inmediatamente con las que eran necesario especificar y cosa que no hice con las "no libres" para que fueran borradas en el lapso de 1 semana. Por tanto supongo que el problema se suscita por las imgs de los escudos y/o logos que he subido de 3 universidades.

• Sobre el logo de la UNFV, es a la vez un dibujo libre en 2D (obviamente) de la Estela Raimondi. No sería imgn libre? OJO que el escudo no contenia el nombre de la universidad y por tanto no era necesariamente una representación de su logo.
• Sobre las imgs de la UNSAAC y UNMSM, la representación de ambos logos se origina desde hace unos siglos; el uso de color en ellos data de inicios del siglo pasado. Una prueba de ello es la aparición del logo en el mural de bienvenida de la universidad y su utilización en otros lugares.

Te doy estos puntos para que los tengas en consideración, puesto que no he tratado de actuar sin fundamento, en todo caso si estoy equivocado en algo asesorame sobre lo que esta mal y por favor en la medida de lo posible reduce mi sanción, hasta cierto punto algo injusta. Licencia PD-AR-Photo

Hola Ale! Fui blockeado por vos por una semana, por haber subido fotos sin licencia. Las fotos antiguas que subí las marqué con licencia PD-AR-Photo, son fotos de más de 25 años se puede ver. Ahora bien, cuál es el problema? Que estuvo mal? Si sabemos que son fotos antiguas y ya expiró el copyright, no entiendo, me podrías explicar que tengo que hacer con este tipo de fotos? Para licenciar fotos con PD-AR-Photo es necesario comprobar que la fotos fueron publicados por primera vez en Argentina y mas de 25 anos atras. Si no puedes comprobar eso no puedes usar esa licencia. --ALE! ¿…? 17:31, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

"User:Polarlys" tut mir meine Seite hier ständig löschen, obwohl ich da einen Text von mir da herein geschrieben hab. Dann habe ich eine Liste mit Links eingefügt und der kommt mir Kopiergeschützte Werke an, um mit dieser Seite Unfug anzustellen. Der hat die geschützt, obwohl ich da 'reingeschrieben habe, dass ich selber jeder hier editieren darf. Dann habe ich den aufgefordert das rückgängig zu machen und der hat es nicht gemacht. Das ist Vandalismus! Ich habe gegen keine Regel verstoßen. If I had better understood how to go about posting things I would have just left you a message here. Please ignore all of those emails, I simply had no idea of what else to do.

I think I've corrected all of the copyright problems you listed on User_talk:Www3cubed and I posted an appeal[3] explaining my reasons for thinking I had resolved the copyright issues.

The a few technical things I still don't understand are:

1. who should be the Author on an image page, the copyright holder or the person who posted for them,
2. and second, is there any way of changing that messed up junk in Comments? As far as I can see none of what I have in there should be; all of that information is handled up top.
3. A third question comes to mind, is there any was of linking internally to Wikipedia articles rather than doing it through external links, I can't find any help pages on the subject.

Thanks for your help. I'm very interested also in the new EU-like coalition of countries in South America. Great things could come out of that.

Hello Ale, there is a difficulty regarding copyright law here.

If someone takes a copyrighted image (or music, or any copyrighted item) and makes minor changes to it, the result does not constitute a new image -- copyright still applies. Regarding the map of Canada, User:E Pluribus Anthony took a copyrighted map and made very minor changes. He claims he "created" the new map, which is not correct. The copyright held by the Canadian government still applies to the altered image. This is a common misunderstanding regarding copyright law.

It is noteworthy that User:E Pluribus Anthony was banned from Wikipedia-English for repeated violations regarding copyrighted images. Look at: [[4]]

It is true the two maps are not identical. The important factor is that the Wiki commons map was derived from the copyrighted map. The key legal point is derivation, not whether the items are identical. If "identical" was the key point, a person could re-publish a copyrighted novel after changing a few words, which would obviously render copyright law to be useless. Or, if a musician changed a few segment of the melody in a popular song, the original copyright holder would still have a legal claim regarding the altered song.

Ninguna de mis banderas ni imagenes que tenga en la web puede usarse para Commons salvo si aparecen en la wiki catalana. En Commons está lleno de gente orgullosa i ofensiva y tengo la sensación continua de estar siendo acusado de criminal. Lo borran todo, da igual que sean imagenes de la calle tomadas por mi con mi camara en sitio publico, o dibujos mios totalmente hechos por mi, siempre habrá alguien que inventará un copyright para estos casos. Ser el que más copyright inexistentes inventa es una competición que da prestigio al ganador entre los que le siguen el juego. Si pudiera cargar imagenes para la wp catalana sin pasar por Commons lo haria. No se que te paso pero parece que estas muy molesto.

Dos cosas:

• No puedes revocar tu permiso / licencia para imagenes que ya estan en Commons.
• No se puede limitar el uso a una determinado projecto. Si las imagenes tienen una licencia libre pueden ser usados en otros projectos tambien y tambien afuera del ambito de Wikipedia.

Espero que no quieras terminar de colaborar en Commons, proque creo que tus banderas son muy buena y utiles.

Da kann man doch wohl die erste, falsche Version löschen? The file/page is redundant through a better but not identical one trift doch wohl voll zu. Well those are all non-standards requests. They have two requests on one page, a non standard heading or similar. Those images are currently not archived automatically.
