Wrong permissions on files authored by me

Hi. The files here should be Pd-self. I edited them to rectify that, but you reverted that [1][2].

Perhaps you missed that the author of the file was was equivalent to a commons user (although I explicitly said so in the file history).

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks for giving thanks to the flickr contributor who allowed this image to be uploaded. I had typed up my thank you just to I notice that you just did it. One thing that I like to do is ask if they are willing to change the license on their other images allow them to be uploaded to Commons. I am almost always successful to get anything that we want! Why is this not own work? Have you seen the massive image resolution here on Commons at 3,600 X 2,400 pixels...and the metadata...compared to the tiny one on the flickr link. Flickr limits the resolution of images for people on basic accounts there at only 1024 X 783/683 pixels. Obviously the uploader is on a basic flickr account...just like me. I have the same issue with flickr. This image could be own work. A watermark is not an indication that it not own work. It just shows what organisation the uploader is working for sometimes.

Maybe this can be passed too though the resolution is lower:

I did delete the image from the Wikipedia entry for Mitsou, but I did not delete it from the Commons. I can do so, but there was some information that I shouldn't, that someone else would. Just let me know how to proceed.

I still think that there must be a way to use an image of someone in an ad to show their popularity or to illustrate a point. I'm not completely convinced this is all that different from the derivative work example of a photo of a child holding a Disney toy, but I'm willing to air on the side of caution, if that's what's recommended.

Files that have the same image, though are different file types, are not considered as exact duplicates, as per commons:Deletion policy, and therefore not eligible to be speedy deleted. Such files need to progress through a normal DR process if at all. The 2013 Picture of the Year competition has ended and we are pleased to announce the results: We shattered participation records this year — more people voted in Picture of the Year 2013 than ever before. In both rounds, 4070 different people voted for their favorite images. Additionally, there were more image candidates (featured pictures) in the contest than ever before (962 images total).

Jitcji redrew and uploaded them according to the information on the official website of Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee, but Fry1989, unable to read Chinese, reverted them to the incorrect version. I translated the information on the official website into English on the talk page and renewed these two images. However, Fry1989 reverted them again. SSR2000

Hi Mys 721tx, SSR2000 (talk · contribs) was blocked in October 2014 for using IPs to insult editors who had "wronged" him (for example, by nominating certain of his uploads for deletion) - see Commons:Requests for checkuser/Case/SSR2000. Since then, he has continued this harassment (see Commons talk:Requests for checkuser/Case/SSR2000 for examples) on the Commons. I'm bothering you with this because I understand that you speak Chinese and are active on zh.wiki (and even a CU there), which is SSR2000's home wiki and where he continues to be active. I note that he seems to being engaging in the same behaviour there (for example, the 117.19.98.129 IP made the same "Fuxk ..... mother" comment). I don't know the CU procedures at zh.wiki, and indeed do not speak Chinese, so I was hoping you could run a check or take whatever other actions may be necessary there. Hi Mys 721tx. I don't believe this image is free and I think it needs to be look at. The user who uploaded it claims it's their own work, when in fact there is a watermark on the bottom right with "Al Diaz from Miami Herald", which I have found here. 大量画像の削除について

はじめまして。　お尋ねします。　日本語版のコンテナ《 https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%82%B3%E3%83%B3%E3%83%86%E3%83%8A 》サイトで、最近大量のコンテナ画像が歯抜け状態になって、本文との整合性が取れていないので調べてみましたら、あなた様により下記の画像が消去され、その理由がどうやら違法画像だと言うことみたいですが、そんなに大量の画像が違法だったのですか？

大変失礼ながらよく耳にする、たまたま何点かの違法画像が混ざっていた為に、思い込みで全て違法と決め付けてしまったとか、そのような事はありませんでしょうか？

例えば、日本のマニアが投稿した大量の画像の中に、一部の画像に内容を補足する為に必要な文字の焼き込みをしたところ、それをあるユーザーが『電子透かしやクレジットが埋め込まれている』と勘違いして全ての画像に『削除の警告文』をベタベタと貼り付け ると言う、他人から見ても大変不愉快なトラブルを見掛けました。

Mys 721txさんはベテランの管理人ですから、その様な無茶はしていないとは思いますが、どうも疑問に思えますので、面倒ですが削除された全ての所見を、『個々に詳しく』お聞かせください。

The issue here is that User:東風南方 does not have the right to license any of the files he uploaded. Even though he claims that those are his own works, they are not as demonstrated below. Additionally all those images do not have metadata necessary to prove authorship and are in low resolution. I believe those factors warranted the deletion of all his uploads.

In your example, File:Container ＝【 12ft 】 Prefecture---No,2 【 Marine container only for Japan Domestic 】.jpg, the image itself is not cropped and has metadata that is fairly consistent to the cameras used in other files by User:Gazouya-japan. Therefore this image does not have any issue in regard to copyright.

まず、削除された一連のファイルですが、これらはすべて同一の利用者がコモンズに投稿したもので、いずれもコモンズ以外の外部サイトに一致する画像があり、転載の疑いが濃厚であったということです。また、一般的にコモンズにおいては、メタデータ（EXIF データ）が付いていなかったり、あるいは解像度が低すぎたりするファイルは、自分で撮影したものではないと判断されることが多いのですが、削除された画像もこのケースであったとのことです。Mys_721tx さんは個々のファイルすべてに関して、どこから転載されたと思われるかをひとつひとつ挙げていますので、「たまたま何点かの違法画像が混ざっていた為に、思い込みで全て違法と決め付けてしまった」ということはないように思われます。

そのようなわけで、これらの画像が削除を取り消される可能性は低いと見込まれますので、もしウィキペディア日本語版のコンテナにおいて使用する画像が必要であれば、他の画像の中から改めて選び直していただくことになります。ご理解ください。

なお、File:Container ＝【 12ft 】 Prefecture---No,2 【 Marine container only for Japan Domestic 】.jpg は、撮影された日付がメタデータでなく画像そのものに焼き込まれてしまっているため、ウォーターマークに関するコモンズの規定 (Commons:Watermarks) に抵触しているものです。日付が焼き込まれている画像は、禁止されているわけではありませんが推奨もされておらず、できれば焼き込まれていないほうが望ましいとされています。したがって、このような画像には {{Watermark}} テンプレートが貼られ、可能であれば日付部分を取り除くよう案内されているというわけです。ご参考になりましたでしょうか。

始めましてYasuさん。態々丁重な解説とアドバイスを有難うございます。たまたま私がいじっていたサイトでこの様な体験をしたものですから、つい辛口的になってしまい恥ずかしい限りです。

削除された画像はどの様な事情で投稿されたのかは分かりませんが、大変貴重な作品だっただけに非情に残念です。色々な事情があるにせよ、例え自分で撮影した画像一枚を投稿するにしても結構、難しいものですね。いずれ私も慣れて来たら折をみていじっているサイトに合った画像を撮って来て、少し投稿してみたいとは思っていましたが、もしかすると一発ノックアウト的な思いをするかもしれないと気が重くなって来ました。やはり、私は草取りに励んでいる方がいいのかも・・・(笑)

You the deleting party cited "Copyright Violation, see Commons:Licensing" Prior to uploading on Wikipedia an email was sent releasing the file in accordance with Wikipedia's policy [12].
