Your figures of Euler diagrams[edit]

Hi there, your figures of Euler diagrams are somewhat misleading, as the letters A and B are placed outside the circles of their referring sets, so that one might think, A is the set of elements outside the circle instead of those inside. Could you please make and post updates of these three figures (I have no SVG editor), where A and B would be inside the circles of their referring set? And please contact me in order to adjust the text in the German article in time, where these 3 figures are used, and the article's authors had to add kind of an "instruction" on how to correctly interprete these figures. --Qniemiec (talk) 00:40, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can you link the file and article? I don't know which ones you mean. 😋 Fleshgrinder (talk) 07:55, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

TCP Congestion Avoidance[edit]

Hey Fleshgrind, I'm trying to understand your graph on TCP congestion control in https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:TCP_Slow-Start_and_Congestion_Avoidance.svg but there are some issues I don't understand: 1.) At t = 3: why does the sender double the CWND even if not all ACKs have been received? 2.) The depicted TCP implementation uses Tahoe, right? Cheers Oleg 2A01:C23:80A3:E200:866C:B336:4570:16DE 12:46, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Very well spotted, if you look at the history I fixed this, but then uploaded the wrong one again for some reason. 🤪 I am going to upload the fixed version again. Fleshgrinder (talk) 16:39, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm, I wrote in the commit message that 16 is correct. Let me verify again… Fleshgrinder (talk) 16:41, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I cannot find a page within the original source where it is stated what kind of algorithm is depicted in their image. Obviously I cannot remember anything, since this is over 8 years ago. From the looks of it it cannot be TCP Tahoe, maybe TCP NewReno which does allow for partial ACKs. Fleshgrinder (talk) 17:28, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

File:Desktop-PC.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
